New Student Orientation
Student & Parent Onboarding
Congratulations on becoming a Lumen scholar! We can’t wait to be your teachers.
Now that you have completed the online enrollment process, you should have received an email that covers all of the information on this page. If not, please let us know and we will be sure to resend the email.
Important Enrollment Information
We limit our class sizes to ensure each and every Lumen scholar receives the interactive, hands-on education we’re so proud to provide. If you change your mind about enrollment during the orientation process, please contact us immediately. Quick notification allows us to give the spot to a student on our waiting list in time for them to start lessons with the rest of their class.
In addition to the student onboarding email, you will be emailed a link to schedule a Zoom appointment for your New Student Orientation session. While it’s not necessary for students to attend this session, we recommend students in grades 9 through 11 join the conversation.
Before attending a general orientation, parents of students enrolling in grades 9 through 11 must first schedule an appointment with our school counselor to discuss important high school information. Students benefit from joining this appointment, as well. Once you have met with our school counselor, please schedule your general orientation appointment.
During this 20 to 30-minute orientation, we will go over everything students and their parents need to know to have a successful school year. We will also schedule other important appointments with teachers and counselors, so please have your calendar ready.
Parents, if you have more than one new student, we will do a combined orientation that covers everything for all enrolled children.
