Goal #1
Increase 3rd graders' reading proficiency scores to 75% or better.

1. Utilize the DIBELS assessment as a screener to identify all students below grade level reading ability
2. Hire tutors
3. Train tutors
4. Assign tutors to work individually and in small groups with identified students
5. Re-test and repeat #4 as needed

Goal #2
Increase 8th grade students' writing skills by 5% in comparison with last year's scores.

1. Students will participate in an initial Utah Compose assessment
2. Tier 1 direct instruction given with classroom teacher on composition skills and strategies
3. Tutoring/academic coaching available for all students, and assigned to those significantly behind
4. Re-assess and review improvements/weaknesses
5. Re-teach, Repeat #4 as needed

Goal #3
Increase the number of 6th graders on level for math by 5% by the end of school year 18-19.

Action Plan Steps
1. 6th grade students will take a least 2 MAPS assessments for math during the year (3 opportunities provided: beginning of the year, mid-year, end of year)
2. Review MAPS scores for all students, and identify who is performing below grade level
3. Specifically identify 6th grade students who are performing below grade level, and assign them targeted tutoring and instruction in areas of greatest need
4. Math tutors will work under the direction of the Math Specialist and grade level teachers to help identify students who gain skills in improving basic math facts and skills needed to reach grade level proficiency

Increase monthly assignment completion rates for students in grades 3-6 by 5% above the average completion rate from this school year.

Each month teachers in grades 3-6 will track the assignment completion rate for their grade level 
Action Plan Steps
1. Elementary trackers/academic coaches will work with teachers to identify students who need assistance, reminders, and/or tutoring
2. Students who are not completing assignments will be contacted and tutoring sessions will be provided, when needed

Goal #5
Improve overall passing rates for students in grades 7-9 by 5% or better next year, as measured by term grades.

Aspire reports will be generated each term showing the total number of classes having been attempted, compared to the total number of classes that students passed, or earned credit

1. Hire trackers/academic coaches
2. Train staff members in Canvas and Aspire to identify student progress and participation
3.  Assign trackers to core teachers
4. Use trackers to provide small group and individual tutoring

Increase of pass rates by 5% over last year's rates.to provide a 5% increase over last year's pass rates.

2. Identify key training needed for teacher professional development
3. Establish calendar/timeline for quarterly training and notify teachers
4. Identify key training we want to provide to parents
5. Advertise, invite, and encourage parent participation 
6. Assign the Parent Resource Coordinator to do continual outreach to parents throughout the year
