Board Vacancy

Lumen Scholar Institute Board of Trustees is the Governing Body of our School. Our role is to create policies that follow state law and will allow the Administrative team to develop procedures to help our school function in alignment with our Charter. 

We currently have a vacancy for the position of Treasurer, and we are accepting applications from interested parents and community members. If you have a skill set that you think would benefit our school or if you desire to serve in this volunteer capacity, we invite you to submit the Board Member Application Form.

Helpful information:
- This is a voluntary position, no compensation is provided 
- Board Governance training is provided by UAPCS (Utah Association of Public Charter Schools)
- Board members are expected to attend training
- Monthly time commitment varies depending on current needs (it is normally less than 10 hours, some of that
   is done from home while reviewing proposals and board meeting preparation)
- Must be able to attend the monthly Board meeting, generally held on the fourth Thursday of each month
   at 4:00 pm
- Must be able to pass a state background check
- The initial Board member term is 12 months with the option of extending
