  • Students must be enrolled full-time in Lumen Scholar Institute.

  • All applicants must be full-time residents of the State of Utah.

  • The number of openings offered to students will be established by the Lumen Scholar Institute Board of Trustees prior to the beginning of the application period each year.

  • Current students are automatically enrolled for the next school year unless an official withdrawal form is submitted to the registrar's office.  students and their siblings will be considered continuing students unless or until they complete a request for withdrawal form and submit that to our registrar’s office.   • A lottery will be conducted following the rules required by the state of Utah.

  • Priority for lottery shall be as follows:

    1.  1. Siblings of returning students

    2.  2.0Children of Lumen Scholar Institute founders

    3.  3.New applicants who live within the boundaries of the state of Utah

    4. Applicants in the lottery who are not admitted (once available slots are filled,) will be placed on a waiting list in the order their names are drawn.

  • All students who apply after the close of the application period will be placed on the waiting list based on the date and time the completed application is received.

  • Siblings of newly accepted students who are seeking enrollment will be accommodated provided completed applications were received by the published application closing date.

  • All applicants will be notified by email regarding acceptance.

  • As a public school, Lumen Scholar Institute provides a free and appropriate education to all students including students with disabilities.


We will start accepting new student applications for the 2018-2019 school year on February 1, 2018. Applications will continue to be accepted throughout the school year. 

The open enrollment period for the 2018-2019 school year will open on February 1, 2018, and will close on February 26, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. 

New applications received after this time will be placed on the general wait list in the order they are received. The order of the wait list will not be made available to applicants.

Once a student is accepted into the school, the parent must complete the registration process withing 24 hours. This allows the school to move quickly through the wait list in order to fill a vacancy. Extra time may be given for reasonable extenuating circumstances but must be approved by the school's registrar.  All supporting documents must also be submitted within the 24 hour time frame. Please be aware that Utah law prohibits students from being enrolled in more than one public school at a time.
